Diamonds Laser Inscription

The inscription is made on the diamond's girdle and is visible under 10x magnification. The laser inscription does not damage the diamond, or change its grading in any way. Laser inscription is the safest and best way to identify your diamond.

Some frequently asked questions:

Can laser inscription damage my diamond?
. GJL uses excimer “Cold Laser” Technology. There is no risk of cracks or fracture whatever.

Will laser inscription influence the clarity of my diamond?
. The inscriptions are very discreet, rather shallow, with no excess carbonization. They are visible but not obtrusive even with a loupe.

Can you laser inscribe all shapes and sizes?
. The shape or cut is not an issue at all. The size of the  stone does not pose any problems either, as the size and spacing of the inscription can easily be adapted to the space available.  Very, very  occasionally we may advise against inscribing, for instance in case of a small stone with a really exceptionally thin girdle, because then the end-result might suffer in legibility.

Can the system inscribe intricate logos in detail?
. The laser can make very thin lines, faint shadowing, bold black characters, whatever you require.

Can you inscribe other parts of the stone than the girdle?
. You can have an inscription on basically any part of the diamond that presents a flat surface for writing on. It is possible to adapt the nature of the inscription to the place and intent; for example you can have an inscription on the table that is equally discreet as the ones on the girdle, but  if required it is equally possible to make a ‘visible with the naked eye’ one.
